Ride the SFO Groovy AirTrain

On May 13, 1967, Scott McKenzie released San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair).

To help celebrate the 50th Annivesary, SFO welcomed visitors with flowers for their hair along with a live performance from the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus. We've continued to promote the message by wrapping our AirTrain in groovy flowers and posting a minuture bus throughout the terminals. Be sure to catch it while you can and spread the #SummerOfLove50. For more information on the city-wide celebration, please visit sftravel.com/summer-love-2017

But wait, there's more! 1967 was a crucial year in aviation and music celebrating San Francisco. The Boeing 737 first entered commercial air service in 1967. And 1967 saw the release of Buzz & Bucky's song Tiger a Go Go paying homage to the night club at the long-since gone Airport Hilton.
